Called claming to be from the IRS stating there is a lawsuit against us and we will need a criminal attorney. Guy had a foreign accent and hung up when I started asking questions.
"Office Kevin Smith" with a thick accent said a certified letter was sent in 2013 and 2014 but no one was home to accept the letter so this is that last warning. IRS will take me to court or I can have an OIC (Offer in Compromise.) I needed to decide between the two. He would not tell me what OIC exactly was so I said have the IRS take me to court
Here is the voice message: "This is an automated message from IRS. You are subjected to receive this message even if ..." and it asked me to call them back with the number.
recorded IRS message, said they tried to send cert mail but no response, now they will file lien
Called the number back after they left a message. I gave them a different phone number to look up my account. After looking up the number to see that it was disconnected, he said he would call me back. Between the offer to call me back and answering my phone call immediately when I called in, I was sure this is NOT the IRS. Also, IRS employees don't refer to themselves with an acronym, they say Internal Revenue service.....
