I got a call and they at first asked for my mother (who passed away nearly 15 years ago) I've had this same cell number since and her name still comes up with the number, the Accent made it hard to understand as our names sound similiar. Making threats. Telling me I had to pay $4,980 today before the courts file a criminal charge. Told me he spoke to an officer in my area and that I had an official notice left on my front door (no notice on door or in the mail). I got a call again and answered same area code different last for digits and told him that I knew it was a scam he needed to stop calling. He started telling me how they did a background check on me. Named people in my family, etc. told me I had incorrectly filed taxes three years in a row and then he went back and forth and round and round and told me the call was being recorded after reading what seemed to be some long legal speech. I told him it sounded like a fraud scam and he got upset and told me he couldn't conduct anything further and sorry he couldn't help stop this and then he kept going on and on and I told him I needed to speak to my husband. Number so got a call from: (703) 756-6663 & was told to call back at (703) 831-8277

Ditto on everyone else's experience... definitely an Indian accent. The only difference is that 4 or 5 hours later, a call came in from an unattended 703 area code number 756-6663... I did not answer. No message left... but called back to find this is a real IRS number in VA, with a recording stating that it is an unattended number. Google has it listed as an IRS number. How are the scammers able to spoof a real IRS phone line that imprints the number to a recipients caller ID?

Same as above - 2 calls today, 4+ hours apart, one from a Seattle, WA area code, same recorded message, exactly, as this one from VA, caller ID WITS3. Threats of warrant for arrest, etc, -SCAM!! Do NOT give out personal information over the phone, EVER!

Just received a call from these imbeciles at 11:10 this morning. They are on the move, looking at the time stamps on these posts. I am definitely going to report this scum. I'm probably going to reverse prank them it is just too tempting to play along and see how far they take it. How much you wanna bet the very first thing they ask--IF they actually answer the phone--is to verify your social security and date of birth? SCUM.

A woman with a heavy accent called and left a message about tax fraud and I would be arrested if I didn't call back. Tried to call back, but got a busy signal. I know I've done nothing wrong, but scared me just the same.

Same here. Pretty obvious fraud, but quite blatant. They should be tracked down and incarcerated. I thought it might be fun to call them back and claim to be related to Pocahontas, and therefore not required to pay taxes. Might still do it, for a laff.

Call from IRS - another scam! This is not the Internal Revenue Service. Do not call them back as they request!

Received a call from someone with heavy accent stating I had committed tax fraud and a lawsuit with a warrant was being issued for me in court today! Please contact them back immediatley! #1 - This is not how the IRS works, they are not going to leave you a voice mail message, it would be formal contact from the actual IRS at your home address, followed by strict procedures. These people are the ones that need to be arrested!

Called me three times, mentioning something about a warrant for arrest, with a heavy accent. Smells like FRAUD!! BEWARE OF SCAM!!

Called my elderly father first thing this morning and said to call back today, or they will issue a warrant for arrest.

Came up as "WITS3" on Caller ID.

Says they are issuing arrest warrant for tax fraud . Get back today.
