I received a call today from a man claiming to be Thomas Harrington. He told me he was calling on behalf of the DEA because 5 years ago, I bought pills through the internet illegally. He told me he was about to issue a warrent for my arrest. He went on to explain that by purchasing the pills I violated 2 different laws Section 821 and another one that I can't recall. He told me he was working for Homeland Security, and the people that were shipping out the pills had already been charged and were awaiting trial. He told me that about eight hundred people also violated this same law that came into effect on Jan 2002. He told me 500 of them had already been charged with a criminal felony. I lost connection with him due to poor cell phone service, so I called the number back about fifteen minutes later after I called to see if there was a warrent for my arrest. When I spoke to him the second time, he told me in order to avoid beimg arrested i needed to pay 1,980 dollars. I knew at that piont it was all a scam.I hung up. I listened to his crap in the beginning because I did buy some diet pills online that were some generic herbal form of the type doctors perscribe. I was ripped off. Then, my credit card number was stolen and used in several transactions on the internet. This matter was reported to the real DEA and a hotline that the DEA gave me. He used two different numbers (323)319-6248 and (703)879-3258. He called back and I told him I was at the DEA office and they wanted to speak with him. He hung up.
