I received a call also. They were asking for donations (same as everyone else). I declined to give him my debit card number. I asked him to mail a donation slip to me. He said they didn’t want to do that so they could keep costs down. I said no money would be donated on the phone but I would when I received the donation slip. They took my mailing address. I never received mail from them. They called again and said they received the donation back from me but were unable to read all the numbers and needed me to read my card to them. I disconnected the call and blocked their number.

Called on this number, from my home area code. Said were collecting for the Police Protective Association. No such organization in CA. I asked to be taken off his calling list and he hung up. I tried the number and got no answer.

This is a fradulent call apparently using fake numbers in one's own area code (an illegal practice called "spoofing").

Unknown number rang three times and hung up. No message left. Number now blocked. If you don't recognize the number don't answer the phone!

Caller iden tied himself as "Brian" and was asking for donations to help Iraq and Afganistan war veterans. When I asked for his last name and the name of the organization, he hung up.....
