I received a call from First State Attorney Office. All three people had a thick accent. The first girl I said I could not understand her, the second, I said the same, finally they transferred me to a man who said his name was David Stone. All three had thick accents. They claimed I owed money from a payday loan and the following week, someone would come to my home and take me physically to court if I did not resolve the loan. They wanted me to make a down payment that same day. The phone number was a 724 area code. They claimed they were located in Irvine, California. I lived in Irvine, CA and we have a 714 area code.
I got a call from this number yesterday. The girl was hard to understand and kept telling me I was being sued for a payday loan I have received. I never received a payday loan and kept telling her that. She then proceeded to tell me that someone would be coming to my door on Friday and I would have to provide bank statements to prove I never received this loan. The number came up on the caller ID as 10000. Does anyone know what I shuold do if they keep calling?
Very foreign sounding man calling about a lawsuit on my cell, and that I or my lawyer should call them. I am unaware of any lawsuit, but the funny thing is they called my work as well, and while the man on the message gave 707-271-9140 as the contact number, the called ID came up at work as 919-639-5000, a lawyer by the name of Ms. Mercer. I called that number to see what was up, and she was breaking up like it was a Skype phone or a Magic Jack, and said she wasn't affiliated with a collection agency, but wanted my name to "clear things up". I don't owe anything to anybody as far as I know, nothing in litigation anyway...I dunno if I should call the 707 number just to see...I didn't give my name, because it was fishy that she wanted it.
I forgot to mention that I was told that I needed to pay this account by Monday 11/1/2010. If I did not settle this, they would come to my house and investigate me and take me away to jail.

did they pick u up/
TheI got the call at 3:00 Friday afternoon Oct 29th. I talked to a lady officer. She informed me that I had an account with their organization. She told me the name of the company. She said that I borrowed money from Instant cash. I then told her that I have a lawyer and need to get in contact with her. She wanted the phone number. I told her that I would call with the number.
When I got home, I called this number and explained what I needed to do, they argued with me and hung up the phone. Before Friday, they would call me using the unknown and 1-000 that would pop up on my phone. I heard from the lawyer and she told me that she looked up and told me that this is a scam and need to block the number.
On Saturday Oct 30th, I called the same call while in school but left no message.
