calling with threats about knowing social security number
I have received numerous calls form this number from someone named Gary Brown who claims he is with the Federal Investigative Department; barely speaks English and claims there is a financial claim against me from Cash Advance. I have already told them to stop calling me (they have also called my office) and that, if this is a "true debt" they are required to submit info to me via writing. The man was rude and kept interrupting me--it is a scam. I am reporting this number to the FTC and the police
My son received a phone call from this number. The man said his name was Steve Matthews. He told my son that a claim had been put against him and that if he didn't take care of it, he would loose his job and be arrested. My husband called them back and told them to send documents showing that this was a debt incurred by my son, they wanted to argue with him and he told them that he had spoken to his attorney and that's what his attorney had advised him at what to do. The man hung up. He had a middle eastern accent and was hard to understand, also he had all my son's personal information, s.s.#, phone#, and place of employment. We have contacted the Benicia, Ca. police department, since this is where the call came from. This phone number is a cell phone. Definitely a scam
If you go on the website INumberinvestigator.com, put the number in and search it, you can file a complaint with the phone company. So, far I am the only one, that I know of who has. Please do the same.
