Do NOT call these people back and do not answer your phone if you don't know the number!

Now Rash Curtis (collectors) is calling and leaving messages pretending it is " to lower your credit card interest rate" or " you have qualified for a free home security system." I never called them back because I already KNOW that trick.

This collection agency trick is that they call you and act as if they are offering you something, then they want you to call back and give them your information " to be removed" from the list, supposedly. Then they bother you mercilessly if you give them your information. You think you are giving them your info so they can remove you from a list - WRONG. They will call you forever if you give them any info. Don't give them anything and don't confirm anything. DO NOT cal them back.

Report the to your State Atty General and the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau.

Trust me - even if you are NOT the person they are trying to call, they will still keep calling you and bothering you because they just want to bother someone. Take action against them.

They robocall constantly, call and hang up leaving no message, or call and leave stupid messages saying they want to lower the interest rate on my credit card or give me a free home security system. Yeah, sure. Jerks.

Please everyone- File complaints against Rash Curtis in as many places as possible - BBB, State Attorney General, FTC, Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, and an attorney. They are bottom feeding people who are unprofessional and harass consumers, and as a group we can stop them.

Most of all do not speak to them on the phone and do not give them any information.

ROBOCALL from Collector. This is a COLLECTOR (Rash Curtis and Associates). They are bottom feeders and they violate the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act all the time because they keep robocalling, which is not legal.

Calls from MANY different numbers. Don't answer if you don't know the number.

Report them to Atty General, Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, and BBB. Do NOT answer the phone and do NOT give them any information over the phone.

Do NOT press any buttons!

Clark Howard also said that creditors are desperate these days and will try everything legal or illegal to get you to pay. Don't give in!

The best advice I could give you (I heard it from Clark Howard, a financial advisor) is to call them back with your lawyer's fax number and tell them that they can fax all the information to your lawyer. This usually causes them to back down.

These worthless jerks also robocall from many other numbers and hang up (which is illegal), including a 602-753-1203 number in Arizona. Do NOT answer and report them to Atty General, BBB, and Consumer Financial Protection Bureau.

11 ways a debt collector may be breaking the law

Do NOT pay collection accounts thinking it will help your credit - it won't. See below.

Paying off a collection balance of $1,000 dropped a 630 FICO score to a 590

Unfortunately this is an all too common occurrence as any of you with
collections have probably experienced. There’s a deficiency in the credit reporting system that shows recent activity on a collection account, if you were to make a payment. This recent activity makes the collection look younger and can result in a score drop. In my simulation the “recency” of the collection went from “greater than three years old” to less than 12 months. When you make a payment on a collection the collection agency will report the new balance to the credit reporting agencies. The “date reported” on the collection account will be the then current date, which can lead to the score drop.

Ha - this company as of today has been put out of BUSINESS due to illegal business practices.

Read the article, and be sure to file COMPLAINTS against any collector who contacts you. Do not speak with ANY of them on the phone or give any information. They are all worthless and consumers WILL triumph over their tactless business practices.

Collection services but they cannot find why their automated system keep dialing my number. I've asked several times for them to remove my number and to discontinue calling me but the calls persist.
