I got the same call like everyone else did...that I had 2 "claims" about to be filed against me. I actually called them back and they said it was from payday loan from 2013. I had taken out a few a few years back so I was staring to believe them, but when they couldn't give me anything in writing that I allegedly signed for I knew they were scammers! This is insane!!!
Got a call today. Didnt recognize number so let it go to vm. Message was robotic voice from the "pre-trial division" and ofcourse no jurisdiction mentioned. The rest of the recording was much like the ones above. I didnt call back and wont because it sounds sketchy and I owe nobody money in Texas.
This number tracked me down at work. They are claiming I took out a payday loan in 2013 for $300 and are wanting $586 as a settlement. The information they had on me made no sense. They had an address I lived at 10 years ago. That is why I am just now hearing about this. SCAM! People like this make me sick.
This is a spam collections outfit. Do not return their calls. They leave threatening messages on your voicemail. First clue that it's a spam. Threats are illegal. I saved mine and recorded the conversation. I'm pursuing for complaint and damages. You need to do it too.
Same type of thing for me, only it was a recording. Woman's electronic voice said they are from the claims department (no state mentioned,) and 2 "allegations" are about to be filed. Finally said I can stop proceedings and negotiate a settlement if I call TODAY! Sounds a little suspicious.
