"Eligible to lower credit card interest rates to as low as 4.9% In order to lower your credit card rate you need to respond immediately before your eligibility expires." Personal Credit Card information is gathered during the call to "verify" that you qualify.

The recorded message said that I was not having any problems with my credit cards, but that I had been selected to receive a special limited-time promotion to lower my interest rate. I was instructed to press 1 to speak to an operator about lowering my interest rate or to press 3 to be removed from their list. I did not do either, instead I hung up. They did not say which credit card company they were calling from and only said "Card Holder Services."
