It was a recording telling us we had a love one in jail and would we accept the collect call. After accepting the call we where told to call 1-323-209-9323 and ask for Officier Miller. This is a total scam.

Same happened to me. I was told to call this 323-849-5643 to get further information from Sgt lopez about the inmate. Some how my phone number was forwarded to that number. Big Scam.

call from inmate saying my number was given as an emergency number for another inmate who was hospitalized and they couldn't reach family members, gave me a phone number to call a*72 and a Sgt name to ask for along with a id # of ill inmate and a case #.
phone sherrff to find out if this was real or not and they infomed me that it was a Scam and to report it to my phone co, the number they were trying to call was 562)735-7217

Several times I have received incoming calls from this number - the last one was at 11:10 P.M. last night. I do not know anyone in the prison system, I do not care to know anyone in the prison system and I want assessability to my number blocked immediately. I will seek help from the phone company if this continues - it is abuse and harrassment.

IT Is MOST DEFINETELY A SCAM , an attempt to get you to dial *72 and another number, so that your calls are then forwarded to that number. they will then take over your phone line, and LOOK OUT when you get your phone bill. THINK ABOUT IT..they are calling you from jail, telling you it is a family emergency, and THEY DONT EVEN KNOW YOUR NAME..or else they will say, "we cant give out names, due to the involvement of a minor child" DUH...fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me!!

This is a calling system for inmates throughout the country, which means all the U.S. the system asks you to add funds to your account (phone number) so you can be able to talk to whoever is trying to reach you from inside a Jail. This is NOT only for Texas, it's for ALL over the country.

Called the global tel link number they left on my voice mail and told them to block my number from there system. They said it takes 24 hours to go into effect. I will let you know in a day or 2 if it worked

i just received a call from the same number. My son had an arrest approx. 6 months ago for dui but i still get this call. I cant understand why they keep calling. He's not even in jail. Did you ever answer the call?
