PHone call got bumped to my desk at work. It was a robomessage. I checked to make sure their call back number (855-208-7341) was actually toll free. It was (according to the web, and if it isn't then work gets the bill... ). I gave the number of the line that bumped to me. THey said they were looking for Susan Barrows. I told them that she doesn't work here. No one by that name has ever worked here or at that number. So.... They identified as R&L Capital, they said they were lawyers. I have read online that they are a collections agency. Usually you get this call if you defaulted on a pay day loan, but they are in the US, and I was in Canada. I don't even know if they can go across boundaries like that. If they are a scam, I don't understand their angle. If they are collections, pretending to be someone who they are not is illegal. And it is uncool to scare folks. Might not be scammers, but they're crooked.

They called to tell me that they need me to sign a summons. Well first summons are delivered by the sheriffs office or a certified individual ( server) or they come via the mail. I have never gotten a call to sign a summons. They are a collection firm and the new law as of oct 24, 2012 does not allow for collection agencies to harrass and mis represent themselves. I checked the local state court registry and nothing has been filed. So there is not summons. all lies. I will ffile a complaint today with the FTC.

say need to discuss page 15 of the papers i have been served, along with my statement to the plaintiff. i am not being sued, have never been sued, signed for no papers - these calls have been coming to my office for months. what can we do to stop this ridiculous calling.

they called me as well, said "consider this as being "SERVED". first of all , they don't know who they called for sure! second, i called back 5 times in one day, they never answered the calls, only an answering machine. What law firm doesn't answer their phones!! Last message I left was that i tried looking up the law firm online and the BBB gives them an "F" rating, plus no searches ever pulled up anything, except SCAMS!! I told them not to call me back and they haven't!

They keep calling me saying they are the law offices of Rossi and Lomardi and they keep telling that they will take me to court if I don't pay $3000.00 and then they said $510.00 and then they said to pay at least $50.00. That they will take me to court and garnish my wages and they will report me to AccuChex. They said I will never be able to open a bank account for the rest of my life. My existing accounts will be frozen.
