Medical Alert System- prerecorded message from a man named John. Created in such a way that it gives the impression that you are speaking with an actual person (pauses mid sentence, uses casual diction, etc.) Told that I was to receive free medical equipment that I ordered (did not) or that "someone else" ordered for me. Told twice that the equipment was free and once that shipping was "no cost to you." Received this same call approximately two weeks ago and hung up. Today, I listened through the message and was given the option to press 1 to make arrangements for shipment or press 5 to be taken off the list. I pressed 5 today. It is beyond obvious that this is a scam designed to take advantage of seniors and medically frail. I am so offended by the message's content and format, as it is obvious it is created to be deceitful. As a younger couple, we have never ordered any medical equipment...somehow we were placed on this list. I am hopeful this will help stop this practice.
