As the robo-call recording played, I pressed zero. My call was transferred to a male who identified himself as the branch supervisor. He initially rebuffed my "Do not call" request, first saying I had to give one of just two acceptable "reasons" for the request (when I gave my own reason, he insistently responded: "I don't have a box for that"), and second claiming that the request would be honored by this "branch" but not by "other branches." He asserted that as a holder of ANY credit card I was already one of their customers and so had no standing to make a company-wide DNC request; I am not this company's customer. As I continued to press my request, asking to speak to this man's supervisor, his arrogant, mocking behavior only escalated. When I asked him straight out what is the name of this company, he abruptly ended the call.
Hey everyone. Just to give you a heads up. Yes, the name you are seeing on your caller id is indeed me. However, this has not been my number since July, 2013. Someone else is now using the number and my name is still attached to the caller id. I am working with a company to have my name detached from this number. I also contacted the FBI and reported that someone or a company is using this number to try and scam people. I've actually had people hunt me down through facebook and other places to ask that I stop calling. It's not me. Just so you know. And I've tightened up my privacy settings on these sites to help protect my privacy. I do hope it get resolved soon.
received call asked for supervisor a Marcus Tate came on the line asked him to be removed from his list he said that the only way to be removed from the list was to get qualified advised that do not call list is federal law and he said that they did not have to follow it and I asked for his call back number he told me to F*** my self and hung up
Upon answering, a recording plays and suggests that this is the last attempt to take advantage of an offer to lower your credit card's interest rate. This is obviously a scam, but even worse, I answered and then asked the representative to please remove me from their calling list and was given an assertive "NO!" before he hung up. These people are scum.
Cardmember Services. They're getting better at this as the guy gave me a Florida license number, a Florida Dept. of Agriculture and Consumer Services number (fake - goes to a vacation scam) and told me he'd be arrested if he lied to me. He called me all sorts of names when I called him out on the Florida location as the Caller ID was showing Lancaster PA.
