10/14/2021 - The call came to me in response to me applying for Medicare. I received an email from the SS office saying they would be calling at different times of the day to get hold of me. The person knew all bout my information and my appointment as well. I am pretty sure that this was the Social security department.

The number is from the Social Security Administration in Jamaica, Queens. Under some circumstances Social Security may have to call Beneficiaries depending on their disability. It's called a "Special Notice Options" For more information in regards to to SNO visit www.ssa.gov/people/blind

6/15/16 - this is a legitimate social security number... maybe the use 3rd parties for verification purposes hence odd looking number.. their 866-226-2306 call back number goes direct into Social Security with minimal if any wait time.
