they called 3 or 4 times today threatening with legal action, definitely a scam

They left the same message as everyone posted. Thank you all for your posts. I will not call back and will report it. I hope no none falls for this scam.

I was called yesterday. I called back no answer. They called back again. I got a man with a heavy accent. When I told him to stop calling my house and I have reported him for illegal practices he said he was going to use a atom bomb and blow up my **********. I cant believe that someone CAN NOT stop this kind of harassment. I was extremely offended and am BLOWN away that some one can act this way. CRAZY CRAZY CRAZY.

Called twice today and left automated message stating that they were going to take legal action at the county courthouse. They are such a poor operation that the message was not properly timed, making it so I could not here the charges being filed against us. I am ready to pull the phone. Can't we do something?

Already got three calls today from the above number. When I picked up, there was only this automated message. Thanks people for posting that this is a scam.

Man with accent calling on behalf of the IRS says a lawsuit was filed against me and I would have to appear in court today. I asked when the lawsuit was filed and why I wasn't served any court papers. He said audit done in January and I neglected to file for over $40k and I owed over $7k in taxes. I asked him to tell me the date this was done and for my SS# and he hung up. They did call back later and I may have called him some bad names (can't remember). I had this happen last year so I was familiar with the scam.

yes, same here, same guy. peter adams..said I owed $7,950 of back taxes between 2008 to 2013. they did an audit. when I challenged him , he became very ignorant. threatened me for jail time. an advisor got on the phone & said they would sew me for $80k. I ended up hanging up, called from my work, got a different name Alex Brown who middle easter..went through the whole thing again. called them 3 more times with my boss. we figured them out. alex didn't want to get back on the phone and said to F- ourselves.

Recording claiming to be from the IRS saying I have to go to court for a lawsuit

When I returned the call, a man identified himself as Officer Ryan Willson (correct spelling and no badge number) and he was calling to let me know that I had been audited by the IRS from 2009-2013. The audit said i owed $5800.00. He was an officer of the court and advising me to hire an attorney. As I began to probe, he hung up on me. Clearly a scam.

Have called a couple times while we weren't home but never left a message. Called tonight and it was a recorded message saying the IRS is taking me to court. Having dealt with the IRS before I realize this is not the way they do business. Clearly a scam.

Update.. Yes. IRS confirmed it is a scam. Go to tigta.gov to report it. IRS always send out letters first. They never ever call first.

This number called then asked to call the same number back stating that the IRS is taking me to court. After calling back, a man with a heavy middle eastern accent stated that he was a Federal Criminal Investigation Officer named Peter Adams with badge number #PA1311. After listening to his speech about how he's looking to freeze my bank accounts, seize my assets including my house and my car if I didn't make a payment arrangement with him. He said that it can be done public or private. If it's public, they will follow through with the above statements. If private, it can all be avoided but I must not call the IRS directly or tell anybody about it. I told him that I never received a notice in the mail and this is the first I heard of it.
When I started to challenge him on his cridentials and asking to prove who he was, he simply gave me the main number to the IRS, told me to call and listen to the message as proof... After pressuring for more proof, he became irate and began to threaten me with jail time if I didn't comply. Asking if I was questioning the morality an officer of the court. He also stated that this was the final notice so if I the call ends, there's no second chance.. I am on the phone with the IRS right now (well, on hold) to verify the validity of the statement and to report the phone number 1-(719)-619-8131 as an IRS tax scam if it's not.
