Caller ID comes up as CenturyLink. 4 years ago this same company called us saying they were from CenturyLink and they could get us 3 free months of business phone service and then $34.95/month, no contract, no hidden fees..just a flat fee. We switched and when the 3 free months were up we were hit with a bill of about $60. We called the number on our bill, which was directly to CenturyLink. They said they have never offered a business line for that rate. And they didn't know anyone who would have sold that to us. They honored the no contract policy but our rates have been between $68-$72 each month. This number has recently started calling us at our business again, harassing us as to why we don't want to save on our phone bill. Yesterday I flat out told the guy on the phone that he didn't work directly for CenturyLink, if anything he was an authorized dealor thru a third party and scamming people thinking that they're getting a sweet deal on a business line for $34.95. I don't fault the actual company, CenturyLink, themselves. However, some third party (and I'd like to know who the true company is!) is very misleading and deceptive to people.
