Credit Card Services; stated I had no issues currently but that if I called, they could lower my interest rate. This happens several times a week.

want credit card numbers

I was told I could lower my interest rates on my credit cards. Once the end of the prerecorded message came, it said press 1 to talk to a representative. I pressed one and received a live person asking if I was calling to lower my rates, and I said no I am calling to take my number off of whatever list that I was on, since I am on the do not call registry. He told me to file a complaint at 801-913-9074. I called the number and received a man named Tony. He told me he had talked to the same guy not 10 minutes prior and took up too much of his time doing the same thing I was trying to do. I tried to call the number back and received a voice mail for Frank Jones.

lower credit card payments

It's a call from "Cardholder Services" - an organization to which I have no prior relationship. I believe it's a scam. One time I did engage with the caller to figure out what they wanted, and they wanted me to switch over my debt to them and make payments to them. However, the process would take a few months, but I should start making payments right away. I did a search for this online and found many other people describing the same situation, and many of the reports suggested they were scammed out of their money. I made a call to my credit card company to see if this was a program they participated in and they told me that it was not. I get a few calls a day, about 6 days a week. The number changes periodically, but there are several numbers they call from.

credit card rate reduction scam.

They stated that they could reduce the interest rate on my current credit cards. I specifically talked to a "mealy-mouthed" female and stated the I did not wish a lower rate on my credit cards and I DID NOT want them to call again.

LOWERING MY CREDIT CARD RATE. AFTER THE MESSAGE, I PRESSED 1 TO SPEAK TO SOMEONE TO ASK TO BE PLACED ON THE DO NOT CALL LIST AND I WAS TOLD THEY COULDN'T DO THAT BECAUSE THE CALLS ARE AUTOMATICALLY GENERATED FROM THE 3 MAJOR CREDIT CARD COMPANIES.

I got this number for the first time but the pitch is identical to calls from card services on many different numbers. I think that the problem stems from the fact that all these companies have all of these unused numbers and are more than happy to "rent" these numbers to these companies for a month and collect useage and activation fees. Once the number is shut down, if it is, they can just cheaply change numbers. I think the government should charge a fee for any number not held for more than say 90 days and the fee would go up with more numbers being cancelled. This would cause them more expense and make these kind of calls much more expensive and maybe stop them. Blocking the number does no good because they know that they just change numbers and who can do anything? Not the FCC for sure. Might catch a few people that change numbers but would benefit the majority of those getting these calls.

This is only one of 13 currently blocked numbers from 11 different area codes that I am getting calls from, I'm on the Do not Call, Do not mail. They told me I get these calls because I'm paying my bills on time. They say they obtained my number from FDIC banks. I've called all my money/credit services and placed strict do not release my information. FUNNY this is "I DON'T EVEN QUALIFY FOR THEIR SERVICES" Yet they still harass me daily. 6 calls in one day. What else can we do to stop this unlawful use of our cell minutes? CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT? Against the CELL COMPANY'S that supply the phone numbers???? MAKE them step up and except responsibility.

They contend that they can lower your interest rate on your credit card balances. When I have decided to not just hang up and follow through, they falsely claim to be working for my credit card company. However, when pressed to tell me what credit card I carry, they cannot do so and hang up.

Annoying caller mailbox message upon calling number back says his mailbox is full. The name sounds like 'Fine Jones,' or something like that.
