They called me. I answered because I thought it was my boss who's cell has the same area code. They asked for me -- I think -- but pronounced my name terribly. However, they said my last name right which freaked me out. I hung up because I know I don't have to talk to anyone on my phone about anything if I don't want too, and we all have this right no matter who it is (but there are negative consequence occasionally). The caller was male and had a thick non-US accent that I couldn't place. I called back and heard "This is DNVRC026ps1 operated by 5617...." just like someone else on here. If I'm ever unsure of what a number is, I call it back. Other sites have hundreds of complaints about this number, so never answer it. They might have real information that they are using to scam you. Additionally, another site says that 720-708-1000 is a "spoofed" number. So don't answer and don't call back.

Claimed to be from Microsoft and said they could help with a computer problem we were having (which started just minutes before the call and ended when we hung up!). Since this clearly appears to be a scam I answered question #11 with the belief it was not Microsoft. An internet search confirmed similar instances of such computer problems followed immediately by a phone call claiming to be Microsoft.
