I got a call this morning on my cell. When I answered, a girl told me my name had been selected to enter a sweepstakes. I told her I was not interested and asked her to remove me from the call list cycle. Since then, I have received 2 more calls today from the same number. On the last call, while I was telling the guy on the other end to remove my name from their list, he hung up on me.

These people just called me about the Million Dollar Sweepstakes. She went thru her spiel and told me all these things I won. The had my cell number and my address already. I told her that I was not interested in any gifts that were going to end up charging me something later. She kept getting distracted and trying to get me to agree to this. She also gave the "My supervisor will call" thing. I told her that I would tell them the same thing. Somehow they are getting our info and I would never agree to anything over the phone from a company with a sweepstakes. Most times you will never get a call from credit card company unless they are trying to collect money.

I never answered when this number called. I did try to call back once and got "you are caller number 2" and was placed on hold. I don't hold for someone I don't know, so I hung up. After reading these threads, I went to verizon website and put it on my blocked numbers list. I hope that takes care of the problem.

I can't belive how many people here even spend the time to discuss anything with these scam artists. Why do you even get in an arguement with them. If you don't recognize the number, don't answer the phone. It is that simple. So what if it goes to voicemail. Delete it. People are too stupid and too greedy to dismiss invitations to divuldge their personal information for the promise of great things from someone they don't even know. It is really disappointing that most Americans are so dumb as to think that there are all these companies out there just looking for people to give things to. Wake up you fools. Don't take the calls, then there is no drama.

I just had a call from them and I went online to try to find out what it's all about and it brought me here to this page. Coming from everyone here it's clear that this is not a legitimate offer.
A guy named Gordan calls me and tells me that I was entered in a one million dollar sweepstakes and that I would receive a free designers watch from them along with a magazine subscription package for only $4.37 a week. He read me my address and told me that his supervisor would be calling me back to ask about him because he is new to the company. After speaking with him a minute later his supervisor calls and asks me if I understood what was going on. I told him yes, and he again explained to me the magazine subscription offer and I told him that I was not interested in subscribing to anything and then he just hung up.

First call from Kristina was very nice, then supervisor from hell called me and insisted to get the last 4 numbers of my visa. I didn't release the information, got suspicion. I told supervisor that I will check their background and he kept on saying that they are legit. He kept on insisting to get my number and I hang up on him.

They called my cell and told me I was going to be entered into a million dollar sweepstakes for having a visa debit card and asked me if I could verify that card. I said no, I needed to understand what this is about. Then they told me I could be eligible anyway and read me my address, and I would not verify it --but it was correct by the way. I said, well, I just need to have more information. They hung up. (posted by a PhD from Texas)

The caller was an american male. He said he was with Gulfport Bank in Clearwater, Florida. He knew my full name and address. He stated that because I was a credit card holder I had won an entry into their 1 million dollar sweepstakes, and the drawing would be held December 31st 2010.

He also said that a free diamond watch would be sent to me just because I was entered into the contest. He tried to get me to confirm that I had a credit card with Visa, AmEx, Mastercard, or Discover, I said "possibly."

He said I was entiled to multiple 5-year magazine subscriptions, including Rolling Stone, for only 5 dollars, if I would give my billing information to his manager. I said that I don't feel comforable giving out billing info over the phone, and he said, "That's ok. You are still entiled to the free watch. Can I send it to your address?" I said "okay."

He then transferred me to an automated menu where I could press "9" if I wanted to take surveys for a chance to win $50,000. I hung up.

Then they sent me a text message from 654654 saying that it was my last chance to win $50,000. The message contained a phone number to call for help 1-800-xxx-0518. IT COSTS $9.99 PER MINUTE!!!!!!!!!!

THIS IS CLEARLY A CREDIT CARD/TELEPHONE SCAM

The same thing has been happening today, and I finally answered my phone and didn't get a hang up. It was the same man. I went through the same process as you except this time he told me that his supervisor would be calling to get billing info and stuff. I haven't gotten a phone call back yet. But, I did put my number on the www.donotcall.gov registry and then i added their number in for a complaint and explained the situation. Hopefully something will take action and have this stopped.
