They say they are trying to renew a magazine subscription.
Magazine subscription renewal for a magazine I do not receive.
Readers Digest subscription renewal; have not had Readers Digest in over 25 years.
Magazine Renewal
An anonymous person keeps calling saying that my subscription to the Smithsonian magazine is up and keeps asking for a credit card number to renew. I don't have a subscription (and never have).
I repeatedly ask for a phone number where I can reach the sales person and am ignored. The high pressure salesperson keeps informing me there is a deadline today and if I don't give him my credit card number I will miss the opportunity and the rates will go up. I only receive a fax signal when the number on the ID is called.
I am a 31 year old male with two elderly grandparents. One with severe dementia and Alzheimer's (think movie Notebook). It concerns me that there are pieces of shit in my sex and age cohort preying on the weak and frail minded with high pressure sales tactics.
Anything you can do will be greatly appreciated by me and others with elderly family.
I am grateful the FCC exists and looks after things of this nature.
Thanks for your time.
Respectfully,
Richa
