I have fun with them. I pretend I am a senior citizen and cannot hear very well and speak with an accent. I will provide them with a phony card number the begins with the usual 5 for mastercard and 4 for visa. I will tell them I need to get it from upstairs and may take a couple minutes since I am old...etc...
They are extremely rude so after you are done playing with them I suggest you act first and then hang up as they would do. I kept the last one on the phone for 34 minutes. Glad I work from home!

Telemarketer, I pressed 1 to talk to an operator to remove my number because it's on the do not call list. I was telling her not to call again and she started laughing and talking in a foreign (sounded African) language and I had to hang up because she just was chattering to someone on her side

::SCAM:: DO NOT GIVE ACTUAL INFORMATION TO THIS COMPANY, THEY ARE PHISHING (FISHING) FOR YOUR CREDIT CARD INFORMATION TO STEAL FROM YOU. GOOD LUCK OUT THERE EVERYONE! ::SCAM::

When they call from "cardmember services" you will be prompted to press '1' to take advantage of the interest rate reduction offer.

When you press '1' a live Indian operator will get on the phone and tell you that they are able to reduce your rate. They ask how much you owe on your credit card. I made up $2,400 and told them that. They will then ask for the expiration date "to make sure your account is not expired". I made up the date of 12/2017. They will then tell you that their records indicate that your card starts with a '5' (making it a Master Card). To gauge reaction I said "no it is a 4 (visa)". The person will then confirm with you that it is a visa. They then ask for the entire card number to get your rate to the lowered amount. At that point I asked "does anyone ever actually fall for this?" The person squeaked out a tiny "yes" and hung up.

This number has just been activated for this use within the last two days, and is rampantly robocalling people around the country. You can sue them for $4500 each call and the calls will stop. All robocalls aree illegal regardless of FTC DNC Registry. You can also sue the person who gave them your FTC Do Not Call registered number for the same amount, per call. Do a little research, you'll find a page by an attorney who sues these creeps as a hobby, tells you how. It's actually very easy. Best wishes.
