This number called, stating I'd been pre-approved for a loan. The exact automated message was: "Congratulations. This call is from PNC Bank in regards to your loan application which got approved on your name in the amount of five thousand dollars and it would be a direct deposit into your bank account through electronic phone transfer in a couple of hours. So please, call us back at (240) 257-5880-I repeat (240) 257-5880 to verify your personal details to complete the transfer of five thousand dollars loan into your bank account today. Once again, thank you for choosing PNC Bank, thanks. Goodbye"

The name of their bank started alternating between "US Bank Accounting Team", "PNC Bank" and last one I heard, which was most recent, "US Bank AND PNC Bank" in the same sentence.

That's just impossible. They are two separate entities.

So, the evidence of fraud I see in my 20/20 hindsight, now that I've retrieved my lost mind, are as follows:

1.) They called me, excessively, about a loan I never quite* applied for. (I checked a box during an online survey-FYI as far as I'm concerned, those are scams too. They shared my information with these scums)
2.) They initially requested very personal information regarding my bank account.
3.) I was asked to pay $200 for "insurance" on the loan. I paid and was told monies would be deposited immediately only to be halted by another demand of $210 for "state fees" and was assured THAT would be the last payment I'd make before the loan would be "immediately" transferred into my account. I paid again. THEN, and of course, I was halted for the 3rd and personally, the last time by a demand of $150 for "transfer fees", fees I was certainly assured this time would be last payment as well as reimbursed to me with the previous $410. Needless to say, I kindly told them to kick rocks and asked for a refund. They complied and provided me with a contact to their "cancellation department" and what do you know; ironically, to cancel the application process of a loan that allegedly had already been applied and approved for, was $150. Smh. (I despise my stupidity the more I type this).
4.) I paid these people in friggin' iTunes cards' for Christ sakes!
5.) They were overwhelmingly desperate to "help" me, to pay them, to loan me money.
6.) They called from several numbers, from several states, other than the D.C. number I am reporting. Another included one from Florida (727) 521-7314
7.) And I hate to use it which is why it's last on my list- but because I do feel it's pertinent, I will list it: It was very clear they were not American despite their very American names such as, "Daniel Martin", "Jennifer", "Terrance White" and "Charles Bravo"...seriously dude. Bravo??? But because I am not racist, I attributed it as a means of eliminating error when referencing them. This and the fact that it was also clear that English was not their native language. In fact, on one call, Mr. Daniel Martin must have forgotten to put me on mute because he then began to speak with a fellow co-worker in his native language, one of which I really couldn't tell you what it was.

Moral of my story? I'm now $410 in more debt, all of which I paid in iTunes cards. Where they do that at? Oh that's right. "PNC Bank"

Please don't judge me. Desperate times, called for desperate measures and boy was I desperate because I am too intelligent to have fallen for this. I could go into way more extensive detail about the foolery and reverse psychology they pulled in an effort to, and thus successfully, reel me in but I'm way too ashamed to do so.

I pray everyone who reads this will allow my testimony to be of service to you. When it comes to financial crisis, always take the narrow path, for the broad is certain to lead to destruction.
