Trying to collect a debt that was written off by my creditor 12 years ago. I defaulted when my business failed and I was wiped out financially. Portfolio Recovery Associates (PRA) buys these old loans and hounds people endlessly. A couple of years ago, I requested from PRA a copy of the loan with my signature on it. I also reported them to the Better Business Bureau. PRA couldn't produce a loan agreement, and in discussions with the BBB promised to remove the account from their books and to stop contacting me. They then transferred the account to another of their offices, which continued with the calls. I don't answer, and block it each time they call from a new number.
