(732) 607-4344 Live sales call recorded 12 January 2018 (Claire from "Pain Management Center", 'records indicate you are affected by back, shoulder or knee pain...') SCAM!
Caller ID: "Medical Supp[ly]"
A misleading live screening and sales call suggesting that I may be eligible for a back brace to relieve pain if I have Medicare and/or private insurance. These foreigners are trying to milk the system, falsely claiming to be "working with Medicare".
I couldn't resist making a pun when she inquired if I had back or knee pain and I asked "my right knee or left knee?" and she guessed "right knee?" to which I replied 'Actually, I think it's my kid-knee.' Alas, she didn't understand. (see transcript, below)
Their "shotgun" approach to making mass phone calls, and their total disregard of the Do Not Call list certainly tells us a lot about their business ethic, doesn't it?
Here is a transcript of their unwanted, intrusive, insulting screening and sales call:
"This call is now being recorded."
[me:] "Hello?"
[female voice:] "Hello, good evening. This is Claire of Pain Management Center working with Medicare. [female voice:] "How are you today?"
[me:] "I'm just fine thank you."
[female voice:] "Okay that is so nice hear. The reason why we are calling you today, Mr. Willis because this call is regarding your additional benefits from Medicare, alright?"
[me:] "Okay."
[female voice:] "Okay. So Mr. Willis. We work with Medicare, at Medicare found out that you are experiencing discomfort sometimes in your lower back, and once in a while on your knees, too, right?"
[me:] "Uh my knees? My left knee or my right knee?"
[female voice:] "[female voice:] "Pardon?"
[me:] "Which knee, my left knee or my right knee?"
It's your right knee, right?"
[me:] "Actually I think it's my kid-knee."
[female voice:] "Mr. Willis?"
[me:] "Yes."
[female voice:] "Mr. Willis, this about your additional benefits of Medicare because these on the record shows here that you are having discomfort, or I tried this in your body right?"
[me:] "Uh no, but I can check."
[female voice:] "Mr. Willis? Pardon?"
[me:] "I can check it."
[female voice:] "Okay so Mr. Willis, you are not experiencing any discomfort at all even once in a while in your body?"
[me:] "That is correct."
[female voice:] "Okay, so Mr. Willis, thank you so much for clarifying that and of course for your time to say [unintelligible] and Happy New Year to you. Good bye."
[me:] "Good night. You too."
[female voice:] "Thank you so much.
