This company called me last night at 7:20 pm for a PGE survey. Did not do it because I am angry at MSI. I am a ex employee that worked for them for almost 2 years and they outsourced and closed the Portland Oregon office after being there since 1986. The job is not coming back. They told us that call center work was dead and it is not. They left town because we have the highest minimum wage in the US according to internet research that I did. Call centers have left Portland Oregon left and right and have never came back. Because of NAAFTA 7 million 600 thousand call center jobs have been lost never to return. MSI has cost me everything. I cannot pay my bills or anything and cannot find other work here no matter what. Collectors call the time and do not understand and say everyone can find work. I use a waker due to a car wreck in 2006 and am being discriminated against and can do nothing about I have applied for between 400-500 jobs and had 25 interviews all NOS. No one will hire me. MSI screwed us up so bad that it has created a big black mark on my record which has caused all employers not to hire me. It has now been 26 months and still no job and none on the horizon. MSI also screwed us over by telling us the Worksource people at the employment office would help us and they did not. All I was was a huge number in this fricked up employment system here in Portland and got no help at all. We got no severence or help finding other work either. The public transit system is so bad in Michigan we could not have moved there even if we wanted to. You had to have a car to live there. MSI thinks they got away with this but my personal belief is that KARMA will eventually get you. Employees that are still working there you WILL BE GONE soon. Things are not good there and if they were you would not have had an office close after being in Portland for over 25 years. I hate your guts MSI for screwing me over and taking away my life and security and being able to pay my bills.

I just put these annoying people's number on my call blocker. There is no way I could answer the call anyway as their statiscal dialer hung up after the 3rd ring. They can now call with their statistical dialer all they want and waste their time as my phones won't ring. I do not care if there is a loophole in the DNC law. The fact of the matter is the vast majority of people on the DNC do not want calls from these kind of sleaze balls either. A reputable organization would honor the DNC but no, these survey organizations would make far less money if they honored the DNC (Do Not Call list) and therefore your privacy will not be respected in their scramble for another buck

there is a solution to your frustration, but please allow me to explain the process of a phone call that you recieve from a business and how you can avoid being called over and over... (this is good advice for a survey company, as well as a sales call)

first i will let you know - SURVEY COMPANIES ARE NOT PART OF THE DO NOT CALL LIST. people conducting surveys are not after you for money, they want your thoughts, ideas, feelings, past experiences regarding a company or product that you probably have some familiarity with. the DNC list is for sales people trying to take your money!!

how to avoid follow up calls;

1) first of all, be nice! the people that call you are simply that - PEOPLE! people that need to work. working at a survey company is low stress, there is no sales quota to meet, you speak to interesting people sometimes with lots of opinions and thoughts, the work atmosphere is generally positive. These people that call you are hoping that you will be nice enough to take/arrange a little of your time to chat with them and fill out a survey... or at least to get a polite refusal.

2)Say no thank you - dont slam the phone down... thats the exact opposite of what to do!!! when you slam the phone down youre going to get called back because you didnt give the person a chance to say why they were even calling. even when a sales person calls, all they need is a "no thanks" from you, an oportunity to rebutt your refusal, and then to hear you say "yup, I'm sure, no thanks" and then its over.

3)Obviously mistakes can happen, 2 people's personalities don't mix, or another alternative is that the person who calls you just isn't a very upstanding employee (all work places have them, and really... if theyre being rude to you they probably wont last long and will be replaced with someone better...) and even though you tell them you dont want a call back you end up getting called again. this case can be very frustrating.. if this happens to you and you get called
