Portfolio Recovery Systems. Bill collector that even trys to collect on old debt that you are not legally obligated to pay because of the age of the uncollected debt. Portfolio buys these old debts in hope of collecting pennies on the dollar. If the debt is over 7-8 years old since making a payment, you are no longer legally responsible.(time may vary from state to state)
