I too got a phone call from a guy with a heavy accent who told me that there had been criminal charges filed against me in California and I needed to call the number back and speak to the gentleman about the charges. I asked him what law enforcement agency he was with and he would not tell me. He just kept repeating that "someone" had filed criminal charges in California against me. He said he was a paralegal and I told him that I am too (which is the truth). And not only am I a paralegal, that I work in the criminal justice system in my state (also the truth). I then informed him that I had not been in California, nor had I committed a criminal act in the state. I also told him that in order for criminal charges to be filed, they had to come from a DA or law enforcement agency and that he was going about all this the wrong way. When he quoted my SS# to me, I told him he has the number wrong and that I wanted to speak to someone in his office. He then hung up on me.

I called the number back and spoke to a "Mr. Collins". I told Mr. Collins that I had received the phone call and that I did not appreciate someone calling me and telling me I had charges filed against me when I did not. I also explained that I had looked up the number online and had found this website that explained it was a scam. He then hung up on me. I called back twice and the number was answered both times with a beep, but no one said anything. I suggested they be careful who they called because this time they got someone on the line with both a legal and criminal justice background. I don't think they will be calling back.

I rec'd the same type of call saying he was from the state attorney office of California and that if I didn't pay $499.19 by 9 am this morning that I would be arrested then about 6:30 this evening they called my job harrassing me say that he put up $200 for me and that if I didn't pay him his two hundred dollars that he was going to tell the police that I was a prositute and that I took two hundred dollars from him. I had two of my ppl to pretend that they was from the Baltimore Police department and that they was tracing the call and once they found out where he was calling they was going to file charges against him and have him arrested well let say he hung up and never called back.

I received a threatening message this morning from mark Taylor saying the very second I get this message I need to call him because he has time sensitive information I need to have my legal team contact him.vi called back with my husband acting like my lawyer he told my husband I wascharrassing him he never mentioned anything else. I called back he say he will send papers to my house within one hour for court. I asked for mark Taylor he said he left for the day I said he just called me he hung up.

Using harsh tactics claiming money is owed. calling and leaving threatening messages

Called from person named Kevin Peterson and he said I want the name of your attoney. He said the state attorneys office was filing a law suit agaist me. He said to call Erick Anderson at the state attorneys office ext; 1032. Which was all false. Why can't they put a stop to this crap anyway.

A guy with very heavy Indian accent call me yesturday and ask me If I had an attorney, because I was going to need one, unless I send him $400.00 out of the $300.00 loan that I got from Pay day loans, and that If I didn't send him the money He was going to send a police officer to my home, or work and arrest me, I contact the Police department and they send a police officer to my house, who after lisening to the calls that he made, and listening to my story told me not to worry about it, and that she was going to investigate more about it and submited my case, this is an scam !!! don't worry about it because I also talk to an attorney friend and he told me that even if that's true, the only thing that can happen to me is that they can take me to small claims court, nothing else, if this guy call you don't be afraid to call the police right away and open a poice report agains him.

I just got a called this morning from a guy who called himself mark taylor he had a very heavy indian accent. he left me a message that i need to call or my lawyer if he does not hear from me or my lawyer, the only thing he can wish me is good luck because of legal issues that will fall upon me, he also said good by and take care. he also called me at work and told me to contact a kevin petterson.

Asked for Veronica Smith said he was from the state attorneys office. We are a health care facility. Veronica got on phone with him. He started asking if she had an attorney. She asked why would I need one? He said dont you know what case is against you? we quickly looked up number from caller id. 7604833761 he said he was stephen collins. same as this. The man has a very thick accent like India you could hear other men in the back ground with the same accent talking. It was very hard to undertand him. He knew her cell phone work phone last 4 of her social security number. I am her supervisor. I took the phone told him this was a business and to do not call here again. He said have V- ron- o- ka weird call me this is urgent. I hung up . He called her cell phone 1 min later she did not answer. He left a message to return his call th second she gets the message it is urgent. do not have anyone else call on your behalf. do not obtain an attorney. i will only help you get oet of trouble and fill out all the forms if i deal with you only.

Caller did not give name she stated that I was being sued by the states attorney general office. The caller had a very heavy accent and was very rude when asked what her name was and where she was calling from. Caller was also requesting personal information.

I keep getting phone calla from a Stephen Collins claiming that I have to return his call now and if i dont all he can do is wish me good luck!

caller states he has legal action going against me can't tell me with who but ask for my social security number.

Kevin Peterson called and said the same to me and almost sent it. My my co workers says check the WEB and the names and #'s showed up. I was a nerves wreck the stress they put me through I reported to police in FL and CA.
