Talked to Carmine yesterday,he is in the business of helping people resolve tax issues, such as liens or levys. These things are a matter of public records, and these type of companys make cold calls trying to procure business.
I received a call on my cell phone today at 12:19 pm PST, from (772) 907-9227. The caller didn't leave a message. When I returned the call at 1:25 pm, I didn't recognize the name on the voicemail, so I hung up. I received a call back at 1:26 pm. The guy said his name is Carmen DeVito (spelling?) from Omni Financial. He asked if I have a few minutes to talk about a IRS issue. I asked him what the call was regarding and he asked again for a few minutes to discuss an IRS issue. He asked if I have an IRS issue and I told him no. He asked in disbelief, stating something to the affect, "Don't you have a State or Federal tax issue. I told him no and he said okay and we hung up. Bottom line, if you have an issue with the IRS, they DON'T call you, they put the issue in writing. DO NOT GIVE OUT INFORMATION OVER THE PHONE WHETHER YOU HAVE ANY ISSUES OR NOT! This is the second call that I've received in a few months. Last time, it was a different number and the call was to my home phone.
