Message explains that I'm able to lower my interest rate on my "credit card" to about 4 percent. However, I "need to act now" by being agreeing to talk to "account services." I've been getting these messages for at least 6 months. Originally the calls were coming from a Portland Oregon number. Recently most of the calls are from a Denver Colorado number. I've also received calls from a Cincinnati Ohio and Topeka Kansas numbers too (these are both listed in question 7 of this forum).

Rebates based on recent legislation to lower interest rates, or based on my excellent credit history I am eligible for lower rates.

One call recd was from the government grant dept. the individuals name was Kevin. He left a long message on my phone which I have saved. He was fresh, he sang, and he whistled before he hung up. I spoke w/this person and told him to not call me again. He immediately called right back and left a long message in which he said that I was listening to him. He also said I would never receive anything from the govt grant dept if I asked for it. Then he proceeded to sing and then whistle before hanging up. The other calls are from banks (I think) offering to lower my interest rate on my credit cards. I push no. I according to the prompts to speak with someone and ask them to remove me from their call list. They hang up in me. This has continued to happen. I rec. calls from 8 different #s at various times of the day. I kept track of all these calls.
