It isn't applicable in this case as it was an automatically dialed and prerecorded message call to a cellular telephone number. Nevertheless, the prerecorded message was a precursor to seeking donations which enrich the caller.

I am on the "Do Not Call" list...wondering how they're getting numbers. Many of my friends with the same exchange have just gotten the calls, as well (all w/in the last few hours). Will block the number.

ME TOO !!!! CALL CAME IN TODAY (8/11/12) TWICE FROM 800-318-7853, AND THEN RECORDING SAID TO CALL 800-234-9071. THEY WANT TO SELL ME A “PRAYER CLOTH”. I PERSONALLY THINK THESE SCAM TV PREACHERS & THE LIKE ARE GOING TO BE THE FIRST ONES TOSSED INTO THE LAKE OF FIRE (DON'T WORRY, I'M NOT ABOUT TO START PREACHING TO YOU!), IT JUST REALLY GETS TO ME BECAUSE ELDERLY PEOPLE & THOSE WITH MENTAL PROBLEMS FALL FOR THIS STUFF.
