It's an 800 number. Call them back dozens of times and make them pay for it. It also ties up their phone system. If we all do it they'll go crazy.

not really do you know how many phone lines a call center has.... lets put it this each person does close to 300 calls a day and each site might have 50-200 people. nice try though

To use your brain, you are obviously a two bit debt collector--those are not real jobs because real jobs would check their information more carefully. I have told these idiots that call me 24/7 that I am not the person they are looking for. THey keep calling anyways...I don't give a dam if they are using their real names and are really registered, they are still shady crooks and you are a moron. and I and many people pay their bills but we still get slammed with class so talk what you know and shut your mouth to that you don't know. and another thing I can sit in front of my computer as long as I want, I brought the computer, paying the isp and electric to use it and I have a very nice life so again your shooting off your ass in the mouth with what you don't know....IF these guys were not shady they would check their information and talk politely to you and be professional....all they do is use sarcasm and threats......I'm not and will never be the Juanita Lopez they are looking for and don't don't have the brain to leave me alone. I guess my next step is to sue their balls off.

I received a voicemail on my home telephone and was asked to return a call to (800) 287-3130 and was given a reference number. The phone call was for a name I didn't recognize, but I thought I would call them back to investigate further who was calling.

When I called, a guys answered: "Hello". Instantly I knew something was up simply by the way this guy answered his phone.

I played along for awhile, he said that this guy Vivick (who he thought was me) owed $4800 to Washington Mutual and that I could settle with him today for $3000. He then tried to get my credit card information, bank account numbers, etc. so that I could pay him "today"!

His call back number is (877) 474-0321 and his name is Brandon Tumber. I asked him to email me some information, which he did. The email came from a Michael Schleeper mschleeper@credit-control.com. Their website is credit-control.com.

The address that he gave me in the email was :

When I ask where is was located on the phone, he got very defensive and aggressive with me. He first told me that they have many locations, as if that would passify me, but then I pressed on and he gave me the following PO BOX as he "address":

He said that he is associated with Arrow Financial.

Here is the best part. I called the local office of the FBI to report this guy who is obviously trying to gain access to my personal information, and the duty officer told me that there was "nothing that the FBI can do because no crime has been committed".

I have an idea of something you can do, how about trying to STOP crime for a change? Thank goodness for this website so that I can warn others as it is obvious the FBI won't help, how pathetic!

This is not the FBI's Jurisdiction. Just asking for your information isn't against the law. The thing that is is the way these people represent themselves. I get calls from these guys stating they are quote "From the state" "It is a legal issue" "I have a court summons" Now I realize they are calling for my mother. I was told by her debt management people to contact all her collectors and have them send w/e the bills are in writing so they can go and start having them payed. Well the lady that keeps calling with the lies of "Court summons" Won't hear me out. This is the LAW: § 807. False or misleading representations
A debt collector may not use any false, deceptive, or misleading representation or means in connection with the collection of any debt. Without limiting the general application of the foregoing, the following conduct is a violation of this section:
(1) The false representation or implication that the debt collector is vouched for, bonded by, or affiliated with the United States or any State, including the use of any badge, uniform, or facsimile thereof.
(2) The false representation of—
(A) the character, amount, or legal status of any debt; or
(B) any services rendered or compensation which may be lawfully received by any debt collector for the collection of a debt.
(3) The false representation or implication that any individual is an attorney or that any communication is from an attorney.
To bad though I guess now I'll have to sue... I have my legal rights and they are breaking the law and their own collections practices... Pathetic really....
