I just had a call from this number, saying they were from "Windows" and my computer was generating junk and viruses. This guy had an Indian accent so i asked his name and number so that i could ring them back. He gave this number and his name? John Smith. I just laughed at him and ended the call.

I got a call from what seems like the same people this morning and they tried everything in the computer scammers hand book to turn on my computer and give them access to 'Work with Me' they said. However I was never going to do that on a phone call. It was a woman with an Indian accent calling herself 'Jennifer Williams' saying she was from Micro Assist Corporation. After much research by myself and my computer Savvy friends we came across this Comment from Zed posted on Apr 21 2015. I am not sure what I can do about this attempt to scam Me nor do I know who I should report the incident to but I believe telecom companies should do more. Should I do anything or just sit and let the scammers continue? They have been trying to contact me for at least three weeks as I discovered a message on my answer phone asking me to contact them urgently on 0800 310 1031 from April but I only found the message today during researching them. I also they called me everyday last week and this week at the same time every day as I saw it was an 0800 number I ignored the call as I thought it was a nuisance PPI call as I get a lot of those too! Again is there anything I can do to get these people tracked down?

I received a call from this number (by the way, I'm in the UK) and the caller said they were from British Telecom and that there were problems on the router (a lie) and that I needed to go to my computer to run through a series of actions on my computer to verify the problem. I pointed out that we were with Sky. I was told BT supplies Sky's phone lines. Then I asked for the telephone number to call the individual (name Mike Miller) who sounded like a woman (with an Indian accent). I was given this number. I repeatedly told the individual that 800 numbers are not (the full) free phone numbers in the UK, but he told me that this was the number. I think this was a scam call.
