Caller identified as Janice Wagner from the Department of Education and it was urgent I contact her immediately to resolve student loan debt. Scammers are funny, like I went to college, I'm borderline retarded at best. If everyone were held accountable for all of their actions this world would be a different place.

keep calling people i've listed on application as nearest relative. non-stop calling. rude! have no right to contact anyone listed on application as a relative.

EdFinancial is a student loan servicer. If you have student loans with them, then you signed an MPN (Master Prom Note). When you fill out your MPN, they require 2 references and it states in the contract that they will contact your references if they ever have invalid demographic information for you. If you call them back to update your address/phone number, then they will stop calling your references.

"read before you sign," is correct, once you provide the required two references you are giving them the right to contact those people if your address or phone numbers become invalid. They will not call them unless you are delinquent, or your address and/or phone is invalid. If you want to get them off your back, call them to see what they need. If you have a bill due and you are unable to pay, there are deferments and forbearances out there that you may qualify for in order to put your loans on hold. Be advised that your interest will still accrue and will capitilize on your principle balance if not paid before the deferment or forbearance ends. Just call them... they are harmless as long as you are in contact with them.
