Also are receiving these calls from "Fifth Third" bank. They state that immediate attention is needed on our account and demand SS# and account numbers. Of course, we hung up, knowing that it was a scam. We have accounts with Fifth Third and discussed it and the numbers with them over the phone and in person and they assured us that all is well with our accounts, that the fraud division is on it, that they are monitoring our account for any suspicious activity and will let us know if anything happens. We are getting calls from two numbers-the most frequent being the 800-421-9543. We also filed a complaint with the FCC (www.fcc.gov) and got a nice response from them stating that they want to help but need as much information as we can give them and the more info they get the easier it is to find these people and shut them down. So, the grist of the matter: EVERYONE FILE COMPLAINTS WITH THE FCC and if they get enough, maybe they will be able to do something about this. We are getting as many as six calls per day. It is very annoying as we work midnights and we do not like to block calls or turn our phones off. However, there is a first time for everything. So, we are now blocking calls!!
Courtesy call from 5/3 bank regarding my account. We do not have an account with them. I picked up on two different occasions and they were looking for a person that we do not know. I told them that they have a wrong number and to please stop calling us and to be removed from their list. They keep calling from about 8am as late as 9:30 pm for 4-5 times a day. I work 24 hour shifts and these calls are harassing and disruptive.
