This is not a collections call or a scam. It is Capitol One's fraud department. Check their website.
If they notice suspicious activity they call you from this number. If you still don't trust the numbrr, call the number on the back of your card and get patched through to the fraud department that way. I had someone steal my card info and make purchases in another state earlier today. Thanks to the fraud department the charges will be reversed, my card will be cancelled, and I'll be receiving a new card with a new account number in a few days. Ignore the call from this number at your own risk. The thieves will just keep making purchases.
