What is a "Government Scam" Robocall?

Scammers who call people posing as a government agency are commonly referred to as "government scams". There are many different agencies these callers pose as, but they most commonly pose as the IRS. They say you have not paid your taxes and are wanted by the government. These calls can be very convincing, as they will usually have your name and home address, but they will request your social security number and sometimes even your bank information. There are other government agencies these scammers pose as, such as your local police department, the Social Security Administration, and Medicare. When people pose as government agencies, they are violating the law and should be reported immediately. If you are unsure if you are truly talking to a legitimate government agency or not, you can hang up the call, and call the real agency. Let them know you received a call asking for your information, and you want to be sure it wasn’t a scam call. The agency will be able to tell you if you are actually in trouble with them or not.

Am expecting a package from a retailer. Got an unsolicted call from this number, but I do not pick up on unknown callers, period! And I have no voice mail. Checked my retailer and package will arrive tomorrow by UPS! Whether the call came from FedEX is beside the point. There was no reason for FedEX to call me. Never take candy from a stranger, and never pick up on an unsoliticed/unknown caller.

Called this number from another line after getting the call on my cell phone. It was indeed Fed Ex letting me know that a signature would be needed to accept my express package. Just my experience.

May 14, 2017 call from prerecorded message claiming to be Fed Ex asking me to press another number to arrange payment for a package. No package coming and usually if I have anything coming I get tracking emails...so I hung up. Even legit numbers can be spoofed.

This is a legit fedex customer service phone #. I was expecting a package. they needed a signature and were informing me of that fact. I called the # back and got a customer service center. It is not a telemarketer.

This number is a real FedEx number and the community blacklist blocked it. FedEx was calling about the delivery of a new Verizon wireless IPhone 6S Plus. Please do not report this number as spam.

this is a kinda scam. it is company trying to verify phone numbers and contacts. They pose as FedEx, but I do not believe they are actually FedEx that is why you cannot connect to them.

This is not a SCAM call that your community list is blocking. This is FedEx and because it was blocked I missed a very important call about a shipment. Please correct.

i received a message from them when i picked up the phone it was a recording saying a package was coming today around 10:30 and it must be signed and if we are not home leave a note on the door letting the driver know it is ok to leave it. Sounds very suspicious

Fed Ex calls 10 to 20 times per day abo0ut package drop offs, thinking that it's calling a business. The company has no explanation and will not stop this.
