1-800-466-7295 called my phone three times today, but left no voice mail. If it really was TD calling me (and I do have a TD VISA) to ask about some suspect transactions, I would hope they would leave a message requesting that I call them back. My neighbour has had bad luck with credit card fraud a few times and the bank always leaves a message informing her that they are not making a courtesy call and could she please contact them.
If I had a fake 1-800 number and I was trying to scam people, I'd hit every forum online with that number (like this one!) and fill it with fake messages trying to convince people that my number was real and not a scam. Just saying.
I called TD Visa and it is legit- someone had gotten a hold of my card and was trying to book an airline flight for $1,700. THIS IS NOT A SCAM!
It's legit. Probably you purchased something you normally don't, or the amount is larger than your usual purchase. Or someone is actually using your card.
Definitely legit. I just called in a few minutes ago and they found a number of fraudulent activities on my card. The rep went through all the charges figuring out which ones were mine and which ones weren't until I recognized them all as my own. This is not a scam.
I believe this IS legitimate. I had some failed attempts at an online transaction with my TD Visa a couple of nights ago before I finally got it right, and they just called to make sure it really was me. They do not ask you for any information other than the three digits of your postal code.
Called my home and cell today. I have a TD visa. I called back, asked to confirm postal code and name, then it asked me did I authorse a pre autorised transaction at a gas station, or something gas....
I said NO!!! OMG!!!
Then it said "we need to trans you to a rep". I waited on hold for 1 hour 15 mins till I said F this, and hung up. I called later at night, and the phone number wasn't working......strange......
They don't want any credit card information. Just 3 numbers from postal code and phone number (which they already have) and they knew all my past purchases. Just wanted a press one if you did this, press two if you didn't. I had just been on a weekend trip and had many gas stations. It is legit.
Got a call from this number 1-800-466-7295 about my TD Visa Card ... I don't have a TD Visa Card. I didn't check into it any further.
