Voice message left regarding an urgent banking matter. I called the number on my banking statement, who verified both the message and the return number. The "Know Your Customer" group is required to update a lot of account-related information (account owner, controlling manager if business, addresses, etc.). If you don't update, the account is likely to be suspended at some point in the future due to FATA legislation.

SUGGESTION: don't take the call, but DO call your statement phone number or go to a local branch.

I received a letter from B of A that began:
Action required. Please contact us to update your personal information by May 11, 2021 so you can keep your account(s) active.
Several options were provided - email/fax/phone. The phone number for the Know Your Customer group was 800-496-9471.
I called the fraud dept at B of A and they told me this was a legitimate request made of all customers from time to time.

They are probably updating info for the IRS.

Been getting calls for the last 3 days, they say their from Bank of America , "Juan" "Sheryl" but my bank dont have no record and no emails or anything on my account app. SCAMMERS FORSURE.

Received a VM from Brian at Bank of America said it was urgent and gave me a reference number. Called my local Bank of America and if someone had called me it would have been recorded in my profile. It was not. So if they call back I may answer to mess with them or just block the number.

Got the same call from Bank of America, lady named Sherry left voice message, said she was trying to contact "Sovic Energy", it's not me, so I didn't call back.

Said he was from Bank of America. Said they wanted to verify my information so that they could update there system. He would not tell me any details of what in specific he wanted as he had to go through the entire process. Would not tell me which account this was for a I have a couple of accounts. When I asked to send it the request to my email they have on file he said that could not be done as they had already mailed me a copy prior so it had to be done over the phone. I just told him I would check my information by logging into my account later and making sure it was correct and hung up.
