United Health Care should already know they can either send you snail mail or send a message to an email you should have added when you set up your plan. It it's a cold call, just hang up and look up the correct number for the company and call them directly to have them send me any info I may want. I never talk to someone who calls me, whether I have an account with them or not. I ask what's it about & then say I will be calling them back. I then call the company directly to their legit number to find out whatever info they need. Three-quarters of the time I find out they never called me for any reason. And it's especially irritating to go thru voice-mail hell to get an actual person to talk with. Which is why legit companies will usually contact you via snail mail.
highly SUSPECT FRAUD
Called twice so far today, left no message. just shows "AM ASN RETIRED" on caller ID. I figure it this way, no message... must not be important.
The CALLER ID that appears on your phone is probably the CORRECT number for AARP and if you *manually* call it back, you’ll reach the legitimate AARP call center.
The fraud occurs when you answer that incoming call. They will claim that the credit card number you’ve used is invalid, and will ask you to repeat it; if you do it, you’ve just been had!
Instead, hang up and call the phone number for AARP to ask whether they just called . If they say yes, transact directly with them. (Also, tell, them about the bogus call you received.)
CALLED AND SAID THEY NEED TO GO OVER A WELCOME PACKAGE
