caller showed american express, had sent an email and text yesterday re fraudulent charge of $19 on 3/15. i told them not my charge, they wanted me to start a fraud investigation on the phone only. told them since this was a scam, i would verify on line. "we can't do that!". i hung up and blocked them.

Be ware of phone numbers 800-450-8737. 800-450-8737 and 801-945-5000. I receive these numbers on 12/22/2020 from Albert with American Express regarding an application I did NOT request!

I received a phone call from 801-945-5000. Did not answer it. Same number called a family member regarding an application for American Express Credit Card. Left call-back number 800-450-8738. Person identified himself as Albert. Anonymous February 04, 2021

Said someone applied for American Express card in my name. They then called another number on my att account and left same message. pronounced my name wrong

I got a text message alert from 256-84:

Amex Fraud Free Msg: We emailed a one-time code needed to complete a requested action. Call 8005284800 if unauthorized. Reply STOP to opt out.

I have never had an Amex card, so safe to say this is spam.

Called twice after a payment was made yesterday

Call from this number ID'd as American Express to my cell phone. I did not pick up as I don't have an AMEX card and presumed it was a scam. Then they sent a text saying it was urgent I call them at this number. Did not respond to that either. The creepy thing was that then they called my business number. Woman with a foreign accent asked for an employee who had left our company about four years ago. She said thank you and quickly hung-up.

I dont even have an AMEX card. But I always enjoy wasting their time as if I do.

called the number on my card. was told in my case the number listed is legitimate. had my card cancelled and reissued.

Received 3 calls today, from morning to lunch. Didn't answer any of them. Phone never rang thankfully.

Received 2 txt messages indicating a six-digit number was my "one time verification code to finish adding one of my credit cards to Apple Pay. I called the company and immediately put a hold on my cards. Shortly I got a call from someone indicating they were from the credit card company asking me to give them the numbers as "proof that we have reached the correct person". Clearly a scam.

They have called and tried to get my Mother to send them money. Close this place down!!!!

AMEX Fraud alert scam. Ask for card number, etc. Wouldn't you already have that stupid if you are alerting ME of fraud!!!

I do not own an American Express card

Claim to be Amex. I have been called 8 times in 2 days. Even if one calls the number on the back of your AMEX these idiots are in INDIA now. They are so fake they think AMEX has a 3 digit code on BACK of CARD. What BS. I have been with AMEX since 70.

This number is listed as American Express' official customer service number on their website. So how can the same number be used for 2 different things? This appears to be an official AmEx number.
