Just got a call from this number-the guy sounded as if he may be from India. Said he was calling about Microsoft detecting some illegal activity on my computer. He then asked me if I knew what illegal activity was-I told him that my older brother is a computer tech and regularly monitors our computers for us-he then said, "Ok, then your brother needs to monitor your computers." If he had gotten any further in the conversation with me, I would never have given him any of the information he has asked others.
Call claiming to be from Microsoft regarding errors with Windows. She, Anna, had me click on Start, Computer, Manage, etc., which brought me to a window listing errors. At this point I told Anna I had to leave and was told to call back on this 800 number.
I had a guy call me from this number also claiming to work for microsoft. It sounded like he had an indian accent. He told me that he was going to have to shut down my computer If i was not willing to pay him about $200 for him to fix my computer. I quicky turned off my computer. And went to a company to fix the issues that he claimed and showed me that I had. I found out that the guy was a hacker. I had to change all my codes on on the internet and on computer. I called the police and gave them what information I had.
