They called me and left a very terse message from CFG (no additional name was offered) indicating that it was a very important matter and that it was necessary for me to contact them as soon as possible. They gave the impression that if I did not call this number 800-564-9875 there would be larger problems.

CFG (Cobalt Financial Group) called about a payday loan from 2013. I contacted my financial institute about the supposed transaction and they found nothing. The amount of the loan changed twice from 200 to 300 dollars. The amount they wanted to collect changed twice as well from 400 to 480 dollars. On initial contact they only identified themselves as cfg, they didn't give the actual name of the company until another phone call. When I asked them for the company address and a validation letter they got upset and started yelling at me telling me they didn't have to validate the debt as the debt only need be validated by the creditor which they said happened in 2013.
