They sent a collection letter via US Post office. In the letter there was this phone number to call ((800) 572-5879). It's a scam. If you call it and say you do not owe WF anything, they will ask for your SSN and other information to see if you have an account. Do not give it to them! It is a scam to get your personal info and maybe even talk you into paying a debt you do not owe.
They sent me a letter in the mail that had this phone number. Wanted me to settle a debt with Wells Fargo. Since I do not owe WF, its a fake and a scam, don't fall for it. If you call them, they want your SSN to try to look up nonexistent account.
It is not Wells Fargo. It is fraudulent and WF confirmed that to me. I called their real number to verify. They said it is SPAM and NOT to answer phone. Yesterday they called on a different number. It also said it was from W F, but it really is Not!!!!!
