The call was an "unknown" call. I got the caller to give me their company name and phone number and address:
EOCCA
4099 McEwen
Dallas Texas
800-646-1336
The collection agency employee was calling about a disputed ATT cell phone bill which I partially paid after talking with them in January. Now they have new news: ATT says I still owe them! Oh really? And if I don't pay right now today, they will put a "refuse to pay" blemish on my mother's credit record since she co-signed the account.
I cancelled the account with ATT in October after months of talking with them on the phone and in person to solve my non-working phone problem, and they (ATT) told me the only way to solve the problem was to get another phone, which I finally did. With a different carrier. But they apparantly refused to accept it and didn't cancel my account when I told them to, and kept sending bills.
I called them to talk about it, but ironically never could get a real person to talk with me on the phone. So they sent the account to collections.
After months of hardly any service, after years of faulty service, (from ATT to Cingular and back again... I actually have bills going back to 2002 with the same account) and spending more time talking with ATT on my home phone than anyone on my cell... now they want every penny for months after I cancelled my account (plus collection fees) and had a new service, even after I already paid them for the months that the phone and service didn't work right. Who can I report them to for this?
