Dear Student:
I have added our number months ago, to the national do not call registry!!! That was one of the first things I did after getting a new phone no. It's SUPPOSED to get telemarketers to stop calling. Some simply do NOT care.
I'm also aware of my other Consumer Protection rights; and when appropriate have filed complaints with FTC.gov, or the FCC.gov form 1088.
I am also aware of Federal Consumer Protection Laws regarding Collection Agencies, are YOU? Do you know you LEGALLY, do NOT have to talk to them? Do You know that you most likely aren't OBLIGATED to pay them anything? Do you know you can send them a written Cease Communication letter, and they can no longer contact you, or you could sue them for $1,000.00?
Need more information just respond to this comment, and I'll get an email; and can/will help you with these jerks, and get them off your back, if you're having problems!!!
I am NOT an Attorney - but a self educated consumer. I won a Lawsuit from a Collection Agency against me, with out an Attorney, even though they had one. I will tell you what I have learned based on my own experience.
Thanks for the suggestion, but already have done that.
You can call 1 888 382 1222 (National Do Not Call Registry) to get telemarketers to stop calling.
this is from Readers Digest per other websites information
