My deceased father got a flyer on his door to call this number TODAY with the name Daniel Brown and 1-800-669-0102. This call took me straight to the Loan Dept of Bank of America. The loan we are paying is through Citimortgage so this person better not call or leave anymore flyers or I am reporting fraud which I will probably do to Insurance Commissioner.
Ccalls every day wanting personal info. Won't give me their address. Becomes rude when i wont give my last R of ss#
I didn't get a call but someone came to my door and gave me a small flyer with this number and said "Your bank would like you to call them."
I had 2 mortgages; a primary w/Countrywide & a HELOC w/BOA. We went through some hard financial times & Countrywide/BOA filed for foreclosure in 2008. We filed Chapter 7 and were adjudicated bankrupt in 2010. We were absolved of responsibilty for paying the loans back but we're still in the house because Florida law puts the homeowner on the title and the banks can only place a lien on the property to protect their investment. We're currently fighting eviction as the property is homesteaded and thus has special protection as our primary residence under Florida law. We're still in a financial hole and since we had to divest to file Ch7, we have no resources to move.
Since they are a creditor, if they are trying to collect on the debt that has been legally discharged via federal bankruptcy laws then we may be able to sue them. Also, under the same laws, they are only supposed to communicate w/us through our attorney. So after reading these posts, I'm a little concerned as to why they would knowingly violate both stae and federal laws to contact us directly and attempt to collect on a legally dischaged debt.
Today I recieved a door hanger which stated I needed to call this number with no name or identifable information. I called and it was BOA, my mortgager. When I asked why someone had come over to my home, they were clueless. They stated it didn't show up in their system. Now I'm nervous 'cause one hand doesn't seem to know what the other is doing,

We got home tonight to find a door hanger attached to our door today also. We are trying to modify our home loan so this makes me nervous also. We just had spoke to our representative from B of A today and she stated they got all our information (again) and would let us know if anything was missing.......The funny thing is the 3rd party that they hired to come out to our home and hand carry all of the required paperwork from our house to the FedEx shipping place, when B of A still stated that they didn't have all of the information. We checked off everything on their paperwork as we made copies so they would have all of the required paperwork!
What the heck is happening?!

today I also got one, no name, business, I don't know where this came from till I google the #. Since when does a company do such a thing?? I live alone with my daughter and don't answer the door unless I know who it is. thought they were coming in on their own!! If it is legit, why are they not using the company name ???

This is the same response I got when I called. They knew nothing about it. I have gotten this on my door 3 months in a row, so this is not to verify I live in the home. This is for some other reason. We filed BR in 2009 so legally they are not supposed to try to collect; however, we have continued to make our payments, so I am not sure why they would need to do this in the first place.
I receive calls from this number at least once each day, usually multiple. I never answer a call from any unfamiliar number but my husband did once and they said they were Bank of America. We do not have a loan with Bank of America. Bank of America themselves sent us a letter weeks ago (at this point, probably close to two months ago, actually) saying our loan was sold to another servicer, that the loan number had changed, and provided directions on the website, etc. we should go to in order to see that loan. My husband explained that we'd received a letter from BOA about the loan being sold as well as a welcome packet from the new servicer. The person on the line continued to insist we owed BOA money, which at that point began to seem fraudulent, even if it was not.
