Calling the company phone several times a day and hanging up when I pick up. A few seconds after call a recording comes on about a loan situation. Our company does not have a loan with this company. I consider this a harrassing call when one never has the opportunity to talk to a real person, or the line does not give an option to opt out of the calls. VERY ANNOYING!!

I’m investigating calls from this number. Client does not have an account with Bank of America. I called the number using a blocked cell phone. If you wait long enough this will be the message:
“The number you have dialed has new information. Please press star to receive information on the number you are calling. Please press star now from your cellar phone to receive a text message with information on the number you are calling. Message and data rates may apply. Member info service. If you decide to subscribe to the service, a charge of $9.99 a month plus standard message fees for 20 look ups a per month will apply. Press Star now”
If this is BofA there in a whole new business. Being an IT investigator there are two possibilities here since many people have reported this is a legitimate BofA number. So here are the possibilities:
A.) (Doubtful this is the case) It is B of A and they are either servicing an account for you from one of their many holdings and the call originated from them in which case you would not be reading this post.
B.) It is a company "spoofing & using BofA’s #" to make your caller ID read this number thus you think it is BofA. Or BofA released this number (no longer owns it) as it was an old Countrywide number. This is probably the case.
If you don’t know by now never give out account information, Social, or anything else. Regardless of what line the person on the other end tells you, remember they are calling you about an account, & they would already have that information. They initiated the call, not you, so they should know why they are calling. When in doubt pick up your statement from the company in question and call the number printed on it.
Please educate your parents about these scams. I deal with elderly who have or are being scammed. These numbers are originating over seas and there is little the US authorities can do. You can order call blocking to stop them but that’s about it.

800-669-0102 is BoA collections, I guarantee it. Call centers in PA, NY, TX, CA... it's legit.
The number has been calling several times a day for the last month. I finally picked up and some chick said she wanted my SSN without even introducing herself. Our conversation in a nutshell:
Caller: What is your SSN?
Me: What is this in regards to?
Caller: I am from B of A. This is in regards to your mortgage.
Me: What's wrong?
Caller: That is as far as I can go without getting your SSN?
Me: This is far as I go as well. Good bye.
Caller: You can call us back at the same number.
Me: uuhhh...yeah....
This number has called several times, they are looking for someone else. I told them they had the wrong number and there was no one here by that name. The first lady said she was sorry. I thought that it would be the end of the calls. But no the next day they called again. This time it was a man. I told him he had the wrong number. Just got another call. Now they hang up on me when I answer. I don't have any thing to do with bank of America at all.
