Calling the company phone several times a day and hanging up when I pick up. A few seconds after call a recording comes on about a loan situation. Our company does not have a loan with this company. I consider this a harrassing call when one never has the opportunity to talk to a real person, or the line does not give an option to opt out of the calls. VERY ANNOYING!!

I’m investigating calls from this number. Client does not have an account with Bank of America. I called the number using a blocked cell phone. If you wait long enough this will be the message:

“The number you have dialed has new information. Please press star to receive information on the number you are calling. Please press star now from your cellar phone to receive a text message with information on the number you are calling. Message and data rates may apply. Member info service. If you decide to subscribe to the service, a charge of $9.99 a month plus standard message fees for 20 look ups a per month will apply. Press Star now”
If this is BofA there in a whole new business. Being an IT investigator there are two possibilities here since many people have reported this is a legitimate BofA number. So here are the possibilities:

A.) (Doubtful this is the case) It is B of A and they are either servicing an account for you from one of their many holdings and the call originated from them in which case you would not be reading this post.
B.) It is a company "spoofing & using BofA’s #" to make your caller ID read this number thus you think it is BofA. Or BofA released this number (no longer owns it) as it was an old Countrywide number. This is probably the case.

If you don’t know by now never give out account information, Social, or anything else. Regardless of what line the person on the other end tells you, remember they are calling you about an account, & they would already have that information. They initiated the call, not you, so they should know why they are calling. When in doubt pick up your statement from the company in question and call the number printed on it.

Please educate your parents about these scams. I deal with elderly who have or are being scammed. These numbers are originating over seas and there is little the US authorities can do. You can order call blocking to stop them but that’s about it.

The number has been calling several times a day for the last month. I finally picked up and some chick said she wanted my SSN without even introducing herself. Our conversation in a nutshell:
Caller: What is your SSN?
Me: What is this in regards to?
Caller: I am from B of A. This is in regards to your mortgage.
Me: What's wrong?
Caller: That is as far as I can go without getting your SSN?
Me: This is far as I go as well. Good bye.
Caller: You can call us back at the same number.
Me: uuhhh...yeah....

This number has called several times, they are looking for someone else. I told them they had the wrong number and there was no one here by that name. The first lady said she was sorry. I thought that it would be the end of the calls. But no the next day they called again. This time it was a man. I told him he had the wrong number. Just got another call. Now they hang up on me when I answer. I don't have any thing to do with bank of America at all.

I purchased a Tracfone because I live outside of the US and it was convenient while travelling in the States but I keep getting calls from this number. I tried calling them but without an account or Social Insurance Number they won't even take my call. They leave voice mails and call numerous times each day. I've never done business with this company.

Any suggestions?

This number calls my home three to four times a day and has been for months. I'm currently in litigation with BoA and they STILL harass me by phone every single day. I can't believe nothing can be done about this!

Keep receiving calls from Bank of America. The calls are from BofA trying to collect on an over due mortgage. My phone number I have is new that I got when I signed up for my Magicjack. It turns out that my number used to belonged to the person that was over due. They explained what the problem was and they asked me if I knew the person. I said no. There are no options to talk to a real person from the 8006690102 telephone number, so the best thing to do is when prompted to an account number is to enter a bunch of "1"s like 111111111111111. Then when prompted for other info enter more 1s. This will get you to an option of talking to an agent. DO NOT give any personnal infomation and just use a made up first name. Remember you are trying to unlink your telephone number and tyhat is the only info you need to give. It took about 15 minutes to fix the problem. After getting passed around several time until we found the correct department. I said that if the problem was not fixed I was going to call my State AG. Be firm with them but understand they are just doing a job as well so don't get mad.

I have no mortgage with BOA. I tell them they have a wrong number, they state they need my SS# to confirm they have a wrong number. I tell them that is ridiculous. They state the calls will continue because this is the number they have for a collection. With their logic the calls will never stop. This borders on harassment. Everyone, FILE COMPLAINTS with the FTC. This has to stop. It is obvious they have a wrong number, but they won't stop calling. I contacted a local branch of BOA and they confirm the number, but have no idea why they are calling. They did say NEVER give personal information on your account over the phone unless you feel is is legit. This is legit. I have a feeling they are using google and calling similar names trying to collect old debts. Same ripoff as Portfolio Recovery Associates. Just file a complaint and block the number.

I have spoken to these people and told them my husband is on work comp and having surgey next wednesday. He gets paid once month. I also told them that I will catch up Jan and Feb payments with late charges as soon as we get our tax refund, but they want me to pay them $20 to set up a payment date or they will keep calling. They call all day long from 8am to 9pm. I asked them to stop but they won`t unless I pay the $20 and give them a date. So now i pick up the phone and then hang up. What do they want? I can`t pay it right now, calling me all day long is not going to change that. I wish I could sue them for harassment.

Hello Cyndi, they will keep calling, but as long as you are not three months behind they cannot take any legal action. Even then dont worry, the process is fairly slow depending on the bank.
