I was told to call the (800) 695-1111 number when I wanted to check out from Dell in order to verify purchase. It would not let me continue with my purchase without calling that number. I was hesitant to call that number so I looked up the number on chase and did not find it. Then typed in the number on google which brought me to this website. I called the number on the back of my card and spoke with someone at chase. I told her my situation and gave her the number and she could not verify the number on her system. She said she would call the number and verify it. After verifying it she said the number was indeed chase and it was the fraud department which is why it didn’t populate in her system at first when she looked it up. Spoke with the fraud department employee she said she verified was chase and after verifying it was me he was able to allow my transaction to go through. Seemed kind of fishy but in the end it was verified by the Chase employee to be legit. Voice recorded the conversation after she put me on hold to verify the number so if anything comes up from this situation I will update in here.

This is legit. 800 695 1111 is a bonafide number for Visa.

SCAM - called Chase after I got off the line with this number and confirmed that they have no record of me talking with the Chase fraud department.

I nearly hung up because things sounded fishy and they said - "totally understand, feel free to hang up and call the number on the back of your card." Seems, as you're seeing in this thread, that that's their tactic to get you feeling comfortable again. HANG UP! - they have now placed a reoccurring payment on my bank account that I'll have to remember to refute when the time comes.

This is legitimate. I verified the number with Chase and you can too. it is a method by VISA done to protect you from fraud. If you don't trust it, simply call your bank from the phone number on the back of your bank card and verify.

I called them 100% real. I was trying to make a payment and Visa blocked it. I called gave them my information, they took the alert off and BAM!! My payment went through.

Don't believe the HYPE!!

I was asked to call this number on behalf of one of my customers. It is 100% not a Chase number. It is 100% a scam. Please do not believe the comments that say it is real. They, most likely, are paid to put those comments around the internet.

When I called, the phone call quality was terrible. With the recent shutdown due to COVID-19, a lot of Chase employees are working from home. I assumed that the poor quality could have been due to that. I asked the person on the other end of the line what location they normally worked from. They answered "outside of the US." That is not what a Chase employee would say. When I acknowledged their answer and asked them if they could be more specific as to which location they normally worked from, they hung up. Please understand this is a scam and do not give any information to them. If you are given this number to "verify" any purchases, please contact your local police department.

idk why there is a comment here saying it's a scam. it's legit. I simply called chase's normal customer support number to verify my purchase and it was all good. anyone suspicious about this number can do the same.

This phone number ( 800-695-1111 ) is Chase's Visa verification phone number. It is not a scam number. I have to do this every time I shop on DMXzone.com. After verifying my information, they listed my transactions for the day, which included vending machine purchase amounts and company name, something that a scammer would not know or have access too, it's not like shopping on the internet. If a scammer got that far into your account without you, why would they need anything else from you.

The reason this happens is because Visa has had an issue with a company in the past and wants your bank to verify the purchase.

The only thing this number should request from you is your name, card number, and a mobile phone to send a security number that you will speak back to them.

They will not ask for expiration date, or the number on the back of the card, or home address.

You should call your local Chase bank and verify any phone number with them if you are doubtful.
