Yes , your right. It appears it is a legitimate Wells Fargo number . I got in touch with the Fraud department and was very adamant that they were wrong and it was a scam . They proved to me by telling me what time the automated call was made and why. Needless to say , I was relieved a bit but it I still had an attempted transaction that prompted the automated call from Wells Fargo so there is a problem that I have to still address. But Wells Fargo was doing their job thankfully.

Please call the phone number listed on the back of your card so you know who you are talking to.

Don't ignore the call. Its a legit number but if you don't feel comfortable call the Fraud dept. at Wells Fargo. If somethings going on with your card ignoring it is not the safe play.

It is a legitimate Wells Fargo number but if your concerned call Wells Fargo number on back of the card. No matter how sure you may feel that something is legit, hang up and initiate the call to the number given on your account page or the back of your card. The Jackass " I know better" that sent the previous email is touched in the head. If you ignore the call completely there is a chance that there is activity that Wells Fargo is succesfully preventing so far, at some point you may have to cancel your card and get a new one . If someones using your card for transactions , declined or not , its probably time for a fresh card with new account #.

The customer service agent called you . I am going to try and explain to you one more time. The automated calls come when an attempt has been made to use your card. Even if its declined by Wells Fargo for reasons such as location attempted purchase was made. So the customer service agent is not going to see any problem with your account. The 1st indication is the automated call. I know that there are scammers out there . All I am saying is if you received a call from 800-704-0855, it is legitimate because an attempt to use your card info was probably made. It happened to me. Wells Fargo blocked it which I am thankful for but bottom line is there is someone out there with my card information and its probably a matter of time. I was issued a new card to be safe ? ( safer) . But I am telling you that the number listed that was the reason for this thread (800-704-0855) is a legit WF number. But don't take my word for it. Call Wells Fargo fraud department and give them the date and time of the call. Use your head , don't stick it in the sand. OK , back to the World Series.

Hello !! The number 800-704-0855 is a legitimate Wells Fargo number !! The reason your account is ok is because Wells Fargo has declined attempts to use your card. Someone in China tried to use my card for a $150.00 charge . I received a call from the automated number listed above. I believed it was fraudulent. I initiated a call directly to Wells Fargo Fraud and was assured that it was a legitimate call from Wells Fargo fraud dept. I also got Wells fargo to issue a new card since its clear someone has my account information for this particular card . If you do some basic trouble shooting you can find out for yourself; the number is legit.
