Mine was a recording saying that my pre-paid Mastercard was blocked and I needed to press 1 to unblock it. I didn't.

I have read many sites about this telephone number. It is a scam to collect information from you, such as your social security number and credit card information. It is an automated recording that will ask you for details and have you click buttons on your phone to answer it's questions.

It's funny how lazy these people are that are trying to get your social security number and credit card information from you.

*IF* any of your credit cards are actually being blocked, belive me that you will get a call from a REAL person.

EVEN if you are late on payments, the automed recording never asks you to enter in any information. That will ALWAYS be a person that you talk with after calling back the automated number left with you. When you call back this particular number, it is automated as well.

NOTE: On a side thought...it appears that the federal government is unable to stop these types of things from occurring. Even with the DO NOT CALL lists, we continue to receive these types of calls. I thought about it a bit, then I investigated the punishment for getting caught doing these types of things. It is really nothing. These folks that commit fraud simply open up a bogus company, purchase the required bogus-hacking software for telephone numbers online. Then start their calling campaigns. They run there business for 6 months, then erase their company name and purchase another company name and swith to a new telephone number.

Sometimes these folks are caught, if the federal government is lucky enough to track them down during that 6 month time frame they are operating under some company name. And when they are caught, there is NO PRISON TIME. The punishment is a slap on the hand and they are returned back to doing their normal fraudulant activities.

Seems strange that our government doesn't invest more time into regulating these types of companies. I wonder if these fraudulant companies have their own lobbiests in congress that keep the feds away from bothering them?
